ADAM™ Unveiled: The Nimble Performer Charges Ahead of the AGV Pack at ProMat 2007

RMT Robotics' category-defining robot ADAM™ has, for the first time publicly, demonstrated his true performance capabilities before a diverse industry audience. Delegates at ProMat 2007 in Chicago witnessed ADAM's breakthrough functionality and got a firsthand look at a robot that is redefining the hallmarks of the technology while setting a new benchmark for AGVs.

"It was an exciting opportunity to showcase the capabilities of ADAM," said Bill Torrens, Director Sales and Marketing at RMT Robotics. "It was evident that people embraced the flexibility of the solution instantly. They recognized the distinct advantage of ADAM's autonomous nature and how that is a big advantage in non-sequential delivery."

Designed with open-path navigation, a laser measurement system and an on-board PC, each ADAM is a self-sufficient navigator with the ability to avoid obstacles while performing delivery tasks even in the most complex, dynamic environments. Alone or in fleets of 50 or more, ADAM is always connected through a standard RF network, able to receive new instructions at any time.

Built initially to meet the press delivery needs of the tire industry, ADAM's advantages have now been embraced by companies across the manufacturing and warehousing spectrum. RMT Robotics notes particular interest in the use of the technology for modern cellular, assembly-type and work-in-process manufacturing environments. "They can finally automate," said Torrens. "Our solution works even when there's a lack of consistency in the process, for example, where there are variable origin and destination positions."

ProMat 2007 was also an opportunity for RMT Robotics to build its distribution model for ADAM. The company is continuing to seek partners as it grows an integrator network to deliver this innovative solution to customers worldwide.
