RMT Robotics Delivers Innovative Solutions at Tire Technology Expo 2006

March 13, 2006

Asserting itself as a global leader in automation for the tire manufacturing industry, RMT Robotics unveiled a new product and a fresh approach to green tire handling during Tire Technology Expo 2006 in Stuttgart, Germany. A highlight of the March 2006 event was the unveiling of ADAM, a new generation Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) designed to automate the press delivery process. "Interest was very high," said Bill Torrens, Director Sales and Marketing at RMT. "I think it's because RMT is proving, with the popularity of our gantry solutions, and now ADAM, that we're steadfast in our commitment to delivering innovative automation to the top tire manufacturers in the world."

Despite a heavy snowfall that made travel to the conference at the Stuttgart Messe a challenge, turnout was high at all of the major events. In one presentation, delegates were given a first-hand glimpse into the future of warehousing automation and advances in gantry robotics technology.

In 2005, RMT Robotics completed its first installation in Asia, teaming up with Korean partner Shin-Heung Machine Co. (SMC) to install a gantry-based green tire buffer at the Hankook Tire facility in Daejeon, Korea.

RMT solutions are used at 18 tire manufacturing facilities worldwide, handling more than 430,000 tires per day. To learn more about how RMT technology is helping to cut costs and dramatically improve productivity at one Tier 1 tire supplier, read our case study.
