End-to-End System Integration
Our “one source, one responsibility” relationship begins with an experienced project team, responsible for your entire application. It includes the design and implementation of a system that does what you need it to. It ends when your installation is up and running to your satisfaction. This integrated approach allows for full visibility and control of the entire project and ensures a tailored fit to your environment with extremely high performance standards.
Infeed Systems
RMT designs and installs full production collection systems. To get your product moving in and out of your gantry system efficiently requires careful planning and consideration of materials flow. RMT Robotics provides infeed system consultation, engineering, design and integration between your existing systems and your gantry. Full infeed systems may including:
- Vertical lifts/belt inclines
- Case sealing and taping
- Box tape identification systems
- Transport and accumulation conveyor
- Metering and bar code scanning
- Sortation and gantry infeed
- Infeed lanes and case preparation
Software and Controls
RMT designs and manufactures the complete controls system including electronics, system software and the operator interface and station. With over 20 years of design experience, RMT has focused on creating software that gets your operation running quickly and keeps it running smoothly. Our software and controls are simple, flexible, stable and easy-to-use.
The RMT software system uses a Windows-based operating system. The operator station, located in a separate industrial enclosure, provides a familiar software environment.

- Electronic integration with other common software packages integrated using Oracle or MS SQL server software: you easily connect data management, reporting and networking tools.
- Colour touch-screen mounted into the operator station: you quickly learn and manipulate systems in a protected environment.
- Operator interfaces are networked to the gantries and other interfaces via Ethernet: you track and communicate product, order and inventory management information accurately and in real-time.
- Field devices are connected via “device net” (an open field BUS): you drastically reduce the volume and cost of field wiring.
- “Plug and Play” quick connection for additional devices: you add or remove devices at nodes with minimal change, minimal cost and a wide-range of possible device connection.
- Systems offer remote support connection for quick system diagnosis by RMT support service: you maximize your up-time and productivity.
- On-board “Help” software (PHARO) gives immediate access to system information, operation manuals and instruction, mechanical drawings, spare parts listing and documentation: you have real-time, electronic help that keeps your system running and avoids unnecessary, expensive service calls.
Support Equipment
Every RMT system combines RMT manufactured gantry and support equipment with selected OEM components. We strategically assess existing equipment and controls and recommend best-in-class materials to create the integrated system that meets your needs. From RMT designed and manufactured equipment to custom selected end-effectors, your system is designed to meet your specific requirements.
Features
- RMT is the original equipment designer and manufacturer of the major components in each application: your system is based on an innovative, quality-driven product that meets your needs and maximizes up-time.
- RMT also incorporates standard Kuka brand articulating robots into their integrated solutions, using these multi-axis robot arms to work in concert with the gantries and / or to perform more meticulous product manipulation.
- Standard and custom designed end effectors are available with vacuum, side clamp or full clamp ends and servo or pneumatic actuation. You get a sensitive, multi-purpose effector that optimizes your workflow, minimizes impact on your product.
- Unit load handling (automated transfer cars and pallet dispensers) is servo-based, designed and manufactured by RMT. Optional pallet identification, printing/labeling, stretch wrapping/banding and AGV transportation create the ideal system for your needs. Acceleration and velocity profiles can be adjusted for each SKU to ensure unit load stability beyond the abilities of conveyors. Your system can be configured to automate all operations - reducing your costs, labour and increasing your efficiency.
